Trio nabbed for robbery
THREE people aged between 23 and 25 years old, believed to be responsible for robbing a 22-year-old man last Tuesday, have been arrested. The victim was walking home along Bukit Ho Swee Link around 2.40am when he was suddenly attacked from behind by the two men and a woman.
They took away all his belongings, such as his handphone, bag and accessories, and fled. The victim called the police when he returned home. Police subsequently managed to identify the suspects and caught them in the wee hours of Saturday, Oct 2.
Preliminary investigations showed that the suspects may also be involved in other similar robbery cases islandwide. They will be charged in Court on Monday for Robbery with Hurt under Section 394 of the Penal Code. If found guilty, they can be jailed up to 20 years and get no less than 12 strokes of the cane.
