Theft from vehicles: 12 nabbed
<!-- by line --> <!-- end by line --> TWELVE people were arrested for suspected involvement in a series of theft from vehicle cases, a police statement said on Friday. The 12, aged between 15 and 21 years old, were nabbed in an operation which started on Thursday afternoon, the statement said. After a spate of theft cases reported in the Sembawang Hills and Lentor private housing estates in February, police managed to establish the identify of a suspect, a 19-year-old male. He was arrested on Thursday along Old Choa Chu Kang Road. Through interviews and follow-up probes, the police were able to identify the remaining suspects, who were subsequently arrested. Cash cards, a camera and a portable music player, all believed to be stolen items, were recovered from the suspects' possession. The suspects are also believed to be involved in similar theft from vehicle cases across the island. They will be charged in court on Monday.
