Tennis coach molested student

A FREELANCE table tennis coach was jailed for six months on Thursday for molesting a 15-year-old student on a bus. Lim Wai Sin, 50, who suffered from a psychiatric disorder, had admitted to two counts of touching the breast of the victim on the SBSTransit bus travelling along Bedok Reservoir Road and Hougang Central on Oct 28 last year.
The court heard that he boarded the bus at Bedok Bus Interchange and sat next to the victim who moved closer towards the window to give him space in view of his large size. However, Lim also moved inwards and closer towards her. During the journey, she felt him touch the right side of her breast with his fingers twice within 20 minutes.
On the second occasion, she confronted him and told him to stop. He then got up and pressed the bell before moving to an empty seat on the opposite side of the bus. The victim told the bus driver to detain Lim as he had molested her. Two other similar charges were taken into consideration. Lim, who has two previous convictions, could have been jailed for up to two years and/or fined on each charge.
