SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a 50-year-old man who is believed to be involved in a series of taxi robberies.
There had been several such cases reported in Marsiling, Ang Mo Kio, University Road, Tagore Lane and Bishan in the last several days.
In all the cases, the suspect had placed a knife at the taxi driver's neck and demanded for cash upon arrival at his destination.
In two of the cases, the suspect had also demanded the victims hand over their vehicle ignition keys to prevent them from pursuing him.
Police arrested the suspect at his home at Blk 15, Marsiling Road on Friday.
The suspect will be charged in court on Saturday.
If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to 14 years and at least 12 strokes of the cane.
