Robbers caught in 3 hours

A 19-YEAR-OLD robber and his two conspirators were nabbed on Wednesday within three hours after the crime. The 19-year-old suspect was driving his friend and victim, an 18-year-old youth , along Punggol Drive on Wednesday when two youths flagged them down, asking for a lift. Once they had boarded the car, the two youths suddenly grabbed the victim by his neck and threatened to harm his friend unless they were given cash.
The victim handed over his wallet and withdrew $2,100 in cash from a nearby Automated Teller Machine (ATM). The suspects then alighted from the car and fled. The victim filed a police report at 1.05pm. Police arrested the 19-year-old after extensive investigations gave them reason to believe he had staged the robbery with the two friends. The other two suspects were arrested at their homes in the Simei area by 3.30pm. The three suspects will be charged in court on Friday for robbery.
