Man arrested for bribery
By Carmen Woo
A 20-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested for attempting to bribe a police officer on Friday. On Friday afternoon, police officers from Central Police Division conducted a check on two men in the vicinity of New Bridge Road and took down their particulars. After the check, one of the men approached an officer and asked him to remove his particulars from the record. He then took out $20 from his wallet and offered him the money to buy drinks. The police officer immediately rejected the offer. The man was then placed under arrest and the case was referred to the Corrupt Practices Investigations Bureau (CPIB).
