BARELY five months after a maid began working for the family, she had sex with her employer’s 11-year-old son.
The 27-year-old Indonesian is said to have forced the underage boy to unwillingly have sex with her at the family’s home in the east, sometime at the end of June last year.
The pair had sex again in mid-December, after he had turned 12.
The maid is also accused of having the boy perform oral sex on her on Dec 25 last year.
The fourth charge, under the Children and Young Persons Act (CYPA), accuses her of committing an obscene act with a child, by engaging in sexual intercourse and oral sex between end-June and Dec 25.
She is believed to be the third woman here to be charged in relation to sexual penetration with a minor under 16.
In February last year, a 32-year-old former school teacher was jailed for 10 months for having sex with a 15-year-old student at a Pasir Ris chalet. The married mother of two had sex with the boy six times, at her home or at the chalet, before she decided to end the relationship.
In another case, a 32-year-old stall assistant, who was divorced with a child, was also jailed 10 months for having sex with a 15-year-old boy on various occasions.
Yesterday, an Indonesian interpreter read the charges to the maid. She was not represented.
She is remanded at Changi Women’s Prison as she was unable to pay the bail of $20,000. The case will be mentioned on Wednesday next week. If convicted, she faces a jail term of up to 10 years and/or a fine on each sex charge.
The CYPA charge carries a maximum punishment of a $5,000 fine and two years’ jail.
