Maid faces false report charge

<!-- end left side bar --> <!-- story content : start --> AN INDONESIAN maid was charged in court on Tuesday with making a false report that she had been abused. Ida Farida, 24, allegedly gave false information to the police at Pasir Ris Neighbourhood Police Centre that her employer's wife had used a broomstick to hit her on her back and a fork to scratch her on the left upper arm and back last Sept 14. She is said to have made the same report at Bedok police division the next day. The case will be mentioned in a week's time. If convicted, she faces a jail term of up to one year and/or a fine of up to $5,000 on each charge.
