Two men from Sarawak, who went on a violent robbery spree in the Kallang area in 2010, were on Monday convicted of murder.

Micheal Garing, 25, and Tony Imba, 34, were found guilty by the High Court of murdering 41-year-old Shanmuganathan Dillidurai, a construction worker from India.

The case was adjourned to a later date for both sides to make submissions on whether the duo should be given the death penalty or life imprisonment. The prosecution indicated on Monday it would be pushing for the death penalty.

Micheal and Tony were among a group of four men who carried out four violent robberies from the late night of May 29 to the early hours of May 30.
