A MAN, with no fingers on his right hand, went around taking pictures of the undergarments of women in short skirts. On Thursday, Andrew Bay Hoon Huat, 49, was fined $2,000 for trying to intrude into a woman's privacy and jailed two weeks for insulting the modesty of another woman. Two other upskirt offences were considered by the judge when sentencing him. The jobless man was also fined $20,000 for having 44 obscene video clips stored in his cell phone. The upskirt offences were committed on escalators in MRT stations in 2007 and 2008 with Bay operating his cell phone with his left hand. His lawyer, Mr Joshua Chai, said Bay had lost the fingers and part of his right hand in an industrial accident in August 2006. Since then, the former factory production worker suffered bouts of depression, which made him take pictures of women wearing short skirts. Asking for the court to impose a lenient sentence, the lawyer said Bay, who is single, lives and takes care of his aged parents.
