<!-- end left side bar --> <!-- story content : start --> A MAN who lied that his Indonesian maid had run away with his money was jailed for two weeks on Thursday. Mohamed Fadillah Mohamed Idris, 35, a driver, admitted to giving false information to the police at Hougang Neighbourhood Police Centre on May 11 that his maid had run away with $400. He claimed that he had passed the amount to her to pay for his phone bills.
The maid left and was subsequently found missing. A warrant of arrest was issued against her. The maid was arrested when she sought help at Ang Mo Kio North NPC as she did not want to work for her employer any more. She was kept in custody for 24 hours. Fadillah could have been jailed for up to one year and/or fined up to $5,000.
