Coward man bashes granny, Brave boys chase and force him to flee empty-handed
Granny in intesive care after attack
By Chong Shin Yen
Grandmother of two, Madam Tan, 63, was bashed repeatedly on her head by a robber last Thursday at the overhead bridge on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) leading to Jubilee Road.
Madam Tan's husband, Mr Kang, said his wife was on her way to pray at the nearby Wu Tai Shan Buddhist temple.
She is now fighting for her life at the National University Hospital (NUH).
The robber wanted to make off with her handbag which contained a mobile phone and less than $30.
But thanks to three heroic 13-year-old boys who chased him, the robber didn’t get away with anything.
