Residents will suffer if AHPETC misses accounts deadlines: Hri Kumar The Ministry of National Development (MND) has withheld this financial year's Service & Conservancy Charges grant to the AHPETC until it fixes the weaknesses and problems listed in the Auditor-General’s Office's report on its lapses. SINGAPORE: The Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council (AHPETC) must submit its accounts by the deadlines set or its residents will suffer, said MP for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC Hri Kumar Nair on Sunday (Feb 15). The Ministry of National Development (MND) has withheld this financial year's Service & Conservancy Charges (S&CC) grant to the AHPETC until it fixes the weaknesses and problems listed in the Auditor-General’s Office's (AGO) report on its lapses. Mr Hri Kumar said if the AHPETC failed to meet the deadlines, it would result in the town council not having enough funds to continue operations. He said: "We can have a situation where the Aljunied Town Council misses the deadline - the June deadline or the August deadline to produce the audited accounts for FY2013/2014. That means the MND will continue to withhold the S&CC grants to the town council. "That would not be a satisfactory solution or outcome because that means the town council is deprived of funds and ultimately the people who suffer will be the residents because the town council would not have sufficient funds to continue operations. "What may happen - or one possible solution to that, would be for the funds to be released to the town council but for MND to put in place mechanisms whereby they can monitor how those funds may be used to ensure that public funds would not be compromised

Isn't this asshole like the obnoxious cretin everybody knew in school. Better than everyone else , teachers pet, tattle tale ? now we know where they end up. In white . The people of Aljunied knew what they were in for when they voted WP. All this crap is not going to make them anti-WP. If anything they will even more anti-PAP. HK is crying crocodile tears for AHPETC residents. If I were a resident I would tell them to keep the stinking 7 million and ask each resident voluntarily pay $ 50 bucks more into a special fund. I'd contribute myself even though not a resident. Many Singaporeans would do likewise. I understand politics is hardball but I am seeing something evil and disgusting taking place. PAP MPs please take a look at your party. This is a distinguished organization with a heroic history. You have enough resources to fight fairly and win. The WP won without promising handouts and easy answers. They convinced ordinary Singaporeans they were on their side. Is that so hard ?
