Elderly woman robbed <!--10 min-->

AN ELDERLY woman was robbed at knife point on Sunday in a lift at Block 337, Jurong East Avenue 1. The thief had followed her into the lift at around 1.35pm and demanded she hand over her valuables as the lift was moving, threatening her with a knife. He took her wallet containing $450 in cash and other personal documents before fleeing. In a separate case, a foreign student lost his laptop in a remittance shop at People's Park Complex on Monday. The 18-year-old had left the laptop, worth $1,500, on the floor as he made a transaction at around 12.15pm. CCTV footage showed a man in his 20s, slim built and sporting short black hair, entering the shop and taking away a laptop bag.
