SINGAPORE - A haul of drugs estimated to be worth over $118,000 were seized by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) in two separate operations on Thursday, Oct 29.
In a statement on Friday, CNB said that the drugs comprised 1.2kg of heroin, 445g of cannabis, 69g of 'Ice' and 183 'Ecstasy' tablets.
Four suspected drug offenders, who are all Singaporeans, were also arrested.
In the first operation, CNB officers raided a private apartment along Orange Grove Road, which was suspected to be a drug store.
When the officers entered the second-floor unit, they noticed the master bedroom window was broken and saw two male suspects entering a vacant ground floor unit.
The two suspects, aged 30 and 32, were arrested within the vacant unit, and were brought to their rented cars where 12g of heroin and 9g of 'Ice' were recovered.
More drugs, amounting to about 704g of heroin, 445g of cannabis, 59g of 'Ice' and 183 'Ecstasy' tablets were also seized from the second floor unit, along with knives, parangs, a replica gun and cash worth $6,024.
In the second operation, CNB officers apprehended a suspected drug supplier who was delivering a consignment of drugs to his client in the vicinity of Boon Lay Drive.
The suspected supplier, a 38-year-old man, was spotted entering a carpark in a blue-coloured car. He then met up with the suspected trafficker, a 41-year-old woman, on the second floor of the block.
Officers intercepted the man before he got back to his car. 228g of heroin was found in a bag in the front passenger seat of the vehicle, and another 40g of heroin was found in the rear seat.
The suspected supplier was also brought back to his Jalan Bukit Merah hideout, where officers recovered another 157g of heroin wrapped in newspaper and hidden inside a soft toy.
At the same time, CNB officers also raided the suspected female drug trafficker's unit, where they found about 91g of heroin and a small amount of 'Ice'.
CNB said that investigations into the drug activities of all four suspects are still ongoing.
If found guilty, they may face the death penalty.
