Dog owner charged <!--10 min-->

THE owner of a dog which bit three children at a Serangoon Gardens park early this year was charged in court on Thursday. Terri Chua Teck Hee, 45, is accused of being the owner of a mixed breed named Monmon which caused injury to the boys, aged five, eight and 10, at Tavistock Park along Tavistock Avenue on Jan 27.The youngest victim had a small bite mark on his left hand and two at the lower back.The eight-year-old suffered bruises on the right ankle while the oldest boy had a puncture wound over his right forearm. Asked by the court, Chua indicated that he wished to compensate the victims. If convicted, he can be fined up to $5,000 on each charge. In addition, the court can order the owner to pay compensation of not more than $2,000 to each of the injured.
