Police officers went from door to door in a block of flats in Upper Boon Keng Road in search of a theft suspect yesterday evening.

Over 30 police officers arrived at Block 19 Upper Boon Keng Road after 5pm yesterday, according to an eyewitness.

They were searching for a man who was dressed in yellow and "had tattoos on his hand", said retiree Peter Lim, 60.

Police later told The New Paper that they arrested a 22-year-old man at Block 2D Upper Boon Keng Road, which is across the road from Block 19, last night.

They received a call around 5.20pm informing them that someone had been robbed at Block 468, North Bridge Road. When officers arrived at the scene, they confirmed that three mobile phone cards had been stolen from an elderly man in his 90s.

The New Paper understands that the police are also on the lookout for another man in his 20s in connection with this case.
