SINGAPORE : Police have nabbed a cleaner who broke into a unit at a private estate that he was working at.
An alert resident had spotted the 39-year-old behaving suspiciously outside her neighbour's home.
Sensing that something was amiss, she followed the suspect. She saw the cleaner place a bag into a rubbish bin.
The woman then alerted her neighbour and the police were called in.
The bag was recovered, and in it were branded watches, handbags, jewellery and coins amounting to S$100.
The suspect will be charged in court on Friday. If convicted, he could be jailed for up to 10 years. - CNA/ms
