Charged with stabbing friend <!--10 min-->

A SALES executive was hauled to court on Monday for stabbing a businessman on his abdomen and leg areas last Friday. Simon Tan Hock Leng, 33, appeared in the dock with bandages around his chest and hands as well as his neck. He is said to have stabbed Mr Teo Chin Keong, 34, at the latter's home in Henderson Crescent that afternoon, causing multiple stab wounds and lacerations. Tan is out on $20,000 bail. His passport was impounded and he was ordered not to approach the victim. The case will be mentioned on Nov 23. If convicted, Tan faces a jail term of up to 15 years and is liable to fine or caning.
