SINGAPORE: A thief broke into a Chinatown Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) shop on Tuesday morning and Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) caught him going straight for the priciest items.
In TCM, birds' nest and cordyceps are worth their weight in gold and that was what the thief went for - three jars of a natural Chinese supplement, cordyceps, and four jars of birds' nest.
The shop owner said they were worth S$57,000.
Singapore's TCM Society has alerted other shops in the same trade via SMS, just in case anyone brings in the stolen goods to be sold.
