SINGAPORE - Police said that cameras installed near a car park in Serangoon Avenue 4 helped them identify the suspect in a case of "motor vehicle" theft, leading to the arrest of a 30-year-old man.

In a statement on Friday, the police said that the owner lodged a report on Oct 18, saying that his vehicle had been stolen from the car park. The vehicle was recovered later that day in Jalan Teck Kee.

The police conducted in-depth investigations and arrested the suspect on Thursday morning in Serangoon Avenue 4.

The man will be charged in court on Monday, the police said. If found guilty, he may be sentenced to up to seven years in jail and a fine.
