Any particular religion in itself is not bad, its men using religion as an excuse to do bad things that are bad.

色 (form) is one of the 5 Skandhas (heaps). At higher rungs are the other 4 - feelings, perceptions, impulses and consciousness.

It will be easier to understand the concept of 空 (emptiness) with all 5 Skandhas (heaps) introduced.
