Thai police have been holding a press conference in the last few minutes in Bangkok, and say the two people who were killed in the shooting were Chinese and Burmese.
The force's chief praised the security guards at the Siam Paragon mall for taking control of the situation quickly.
Torsak Sukvimol said the 14-year-old suspect arrested over the shooting showed no signs of resistance when surrendering.
The prime minister has visited the scene, he adds.

There are so many Tiongs flocking to Bangkok for holiday that even if shoot randomly, the likely of a Tiong being hit is very high.

On Twitter, one user posted a warning…
“There’s a shooting incident in Siam Paragon. To anyone going or planning to go there, please avoid it at this moment. Stay safe everyone.”
Stupid . Why only avoid at this moment ? Should either don't avoid or avoid forever. No-one can predict when another shooting can happen.

Stupid law. Why still treat the barbarian as a human and apply human law that under 15 cannot go jail ?

Stupid. Noone can stop anyone from shooting if they want to shoot. The only difference is shooting will be outside the mall.

One person was killed and six wounded in a shooting at a Bangkok mall on Tuesday, an emergency medical service said, revising down an earlier toll.
“It was initially reported that three were dead but actually only one person died,” Yuthana Srettanan, director of Erawan Emergency Centre, told reporters, adding that six people had been shot, two of whom are in serious condition.
A 14-year-old suspected gunman has been arrested after reportedly opening fire on a Bangkok mall.
Hundreds of people fled the luxury Siam Paragon shopping centre in central Bangkok after gunshots were heard, with panicked social media posts warning an “active shooter” was stalking the building.
At one stage, emergency services reported that as many as four had been killed.
Unverified videos posted online showed hundreds of people, including children, racing out of the building or taking cover in shops, restaurants and bathrooms. In another video, four loud noises which sound like gunshots can be clearly heard.
The nearby Siam skytrain station has been closed, while the Thai Prime Minister, Srettha Thavisin, said the national police chief was among the officers dispatched to the scene.
Chinese tourist Liu Shiying told the AP from inside the mall, where she is still taking cover, that she saw people running and saying someone had opened fire. She said an alarm rang out inside the mall and the lights went out.
“We’re temporarily hiding. Who dares to go out?”
Police spokesperson Achayon Kraithong said the national police chief had ordered and dispatched officers to control the area to resolve the situation. Television showed long queues of traffic outside the mall in torrential rain.

The innocent looking nerd wore an American flag baseball cap and killed two women and injured a few more people.
Coud he be a human subject of CIA's mind-control program?
