6 held for motorcycle thefts

SIX youths, aged between 15 and 19 years, have been arrested for their involvement in a series of motorcyle thefts. Police said since February, several motorcycles were reported stolen in the Clementi and Seah Im areas. Following intensive enquiries and investigations, officers from Clementi Police Division managed to identity the first suspect's involvement in one of the cases. On Tuesday at about 4 pm, the first suspect was arrested Jurong East Street 13 in an ambush.

This led to the arrests of the remaining suspects at various locations in Clementi. Preliminary investigations revealed that the six suspects were believed to have been involved in more than six cases of motorcycle thefts in the Clementi and Seah Im areas. Five motorcycles have been recovered.
The suspects will be charged in Court on Thursday for theft from vehicle. If convicted, they can be jailed up to seven years, fined or both.

SINGAPORE: Five teenagers have been charged in a district court with motorcycle theft.

One of them is 19-year-old Ahmad Karrazi Noah Mohammad Noah.

He allegedly stole a motorcycle worth some S$4,000 along Marang Road in the Harbourfront area on February 16 this year.

The four other teenagers are Ahmad Ridzuan Noah Mohammad Noah, Sayed Balakrishnan, Tong Tien Onn and Muhammad Rudieka Prima Hadzir.

They allegedly stole two motorcycles from a multi-storey carpark at Block 309A, Clementi Avenue 4 at around 4am on April 23 this year.

The vehicles are worth some S$3,000 dollars in all.

17-year-old Ahmad Ridzuan Noah was offered a bail of S$20,000 and will appear again in court on May 27.

The others will be remanded pending further investigations.

They will appear again in court next Thursday.

If convicted of their offences, for each charge, the teenagers could be jailed a maximum of seven years and fined.

It's believed the teenagers also had a 15-year-old accomplice who will be dealt with in the Juvenile Court.

He cannot be named due to his age.
