Having an illness for a long period of time can take a toll on one’s physical and mental health as it may cause the patient to feel like a burden to those taking care of them.

Tragically, a man in Sungai Petani decided to end his life in a gruesome manner by slitting his left wrist and slowly bleed to death after he reportedly was unable to cope with his illness any longer.

Often called wife at 9am

China Press reported that the victim was 58-year-old Huang Yuhua (transliteration), who was married and had a 32-year-old daughter who’s currently estranged and never maintained contact since 2016 due to misunderstandings.

Huang had undergone a surgery on June 12 and was sent home to rest, where he carried a urine bag with him everywhere. However, his condition deteriorated the next day, where he experienced difficulties in urinating and suffered from severe pain, where his wife sent him to the hospital on the motorbike.

Additionally, Huang would usually drive his wife to work everyday but couldn’t do so after falling ill, leaving her to do it alone. Nonetheless, Huang still called his wife around 9am every morning to ensure her safe arrival at her workplace.

Slits wrist and bleeds out

On the morning of the incident, Huang called his wife as usual at 9am. However, when he didn’t call again after two to three hours as he used to, his wife asked a neighbour to check on him.

Unfortunately, her worst fears came true after she was informed that Huang had died and she was unable to accept the news as she had just spent quality time with him the night before by watching TV.

She told China Press that Huang was often tormented by his illness and had to take painkillers every day. She’d also prepare food and leave it at the living room for him and the medication would make him dizzy.

As for Huang’s death, the gruesome details were revealed by Kuala Muda district police chief Assistant Commissioner Zaidy Che Hassan, who said that police found him seated in the toilet with his face towards the toilet bowl, along with a deep cut on his left wrist which exposed the bone.

As no other wounds could be found on Huang, police believe that the cause of death was suicide.

Victim’s wife urges daughter to come home

Huang’s distraught wife added that she has informed her estranged daughter about Huang’s death via WhatsApp but has yet to receive a response.

I hope she can put aside our past misunderstandings and come home to mourn her father’s passing.
According to neighbors, the deceased couple was amiable but rarely talked about their personal affairs. They were also unaware of Huang’s illness until news of his death broke.

It was also learnt that Huang and his wife couple had held a banquet for their daughter’s wedding in 2015, but rarely saw her again after that.

Our condolences to the family and if you or anyone is suffering from mental distress/depression, please give these helplines a call:

KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 — The Dewan Negara today passed two Bills related to decriminalising attempted suicide.

They are the Penal Code (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill 2023, and Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) (No. 2) 2023.

The Bills were tabled for first reading by the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said on April 4 and were passed in the Dewan Rakyat on May 22.

While winding up the debate on the Bills, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Ramkarpal Singh said there are several provisions which provide that a person who attempts suicide must be taken to a medical facility for treatment.

“The priority in these amendments is to rehabilitate a person who is thinking of taking his or her own life. That will also take a long time because it involves a psychological process and so on to rehabilitate the person,” he said.

Meanwhile, the debate on the Mental Health Act 2001 (Act 615) will continue tomorrow.

Previously, Azalina said the bill to decriminalise attempted suicide contains four measures, including the retention of the offence of abetting suicide under Sections 305 and 306 of the Penal Code.

She said it also differentiates the categories of those who are incited to commit the actions of attempted suicide or suicide.

Other measures include amendments to the Mental Health Act 2001 that will define the post and powers of crisis intervention officers as well as a moratorium for the implementation of Section 309 of the Penal Code until the repeal of the section is completed and gazetted.

NO! Euthanasia CAN NEVER BE LEGALIZED. It WILL harm Humanity's personal health responsibilities & ENCOURAGES others to take the easy way out, with the gift of life that we Humanity had been bestowed....

Since the dawn of Civilization, Humankind even with limited knowledge, had sought to prolong life, & OFTEN, it is the loved ones whom seek it, thru sacrifices & hard work to acquire KNOWLEDGE, & BUILT UPON KNOWLEDGE, to save loved ones life & empathetically spread such knowledge to save other lives in need, proven in the course of Human history.

REGARDLESS if it it mental or physical health, those loved ones never gave up, & thus, the progress & evolution of medical science today...

Alone, the individual Human would not be able to progress much, but TOGETHER, with goals of saving loved ones, will WE HUMANKIND of the able & caring, WILL find solutions to alleviate both mental & physical sufferings.

Thus, DO NOT GIVE UP ON LIFE. Both physical & mental sufferings CAN be alleviated with medicines. Progress & evolution will, sadly take time, but as long as one is determined to live, to see the next sunrise, the next innocent generations born, & with solutions available - may be costly now but thru economies of scale & legislative intervention to force costs down - HOPE springs eternal.....

I know doctors who give morphine overdose to those who are in agony. But only after obtaining permission from close relatives.
Imagine patients shouting in excruciating pain. Cut their misery short and hopefully a better life in the hereafter.

That's what I suggested old slut @ginfreely to do too.
Fuck herself in her cheebye with a knife, slit her throat then jump out of window since her life was quite miserable.

Honor thy father & mother...is a Commandment.

The insignificant nobody me is NOT blind. No mortal or parents are perfect but only flawed including myself...

In the end, EACH Human must realize - if not for our parents, their hard work, their sacrifices, their diligence, to provide for us as a helpless infant till we grow up enough to take care of ourselves, would we be able to see the beauty of this World, experienced love, care, concern, etc, even as we acknowledges its ugliness of hatred, violence & bullying....?

It is a debt we owe to our parents sacrifices. It is said that no baby asked to be born, but NO baby being born into this World can deny the opportunities it offers to each, so long as one is shown & guided the way to live, to prosper & elevate oneself, TOGETHER as a society, regardless if one has the best parents or the negligent.

Now that the parents had aged & weak, & is only natural, are we Humanity to leave them in the cold forests with a piece of bread & let them die on their own, after the sacrifices they had made for our growth & progress, COLLECTIVELY as a society, as some inhumane societies in the past had done?

No. Even if their heartless kids disown them, we as a COLLECTIVE society will NOT abandon them. We have social safety nets, & we will NOT leave anyone behind - a guiding principle since our Independence in 1965...
