By Elena Chong, Court Correspondent
THREE men were convicted of molesting a 17-year-old student at a restaurant three years ago after a 20-day trial. The case against Eric Wong Meng Cheong, 33, Gregory Goh Boon Hong, 29, and Yue Waita, 30, was adjourned for mitigation next month. Wong was a manager of DOZO Restaurant at Valley Point Shopping Centre when the incident took place between 2am and 6am on Nov 24, 2007.
Yue and Goh, then working at another restaurant in the same chain, were convicted of touching, squeezing and fondling the victim's breast. Wong was found guilty of touching her private parts. In their defence, the trio did not dispute that they went to DOZO with the victim, who was drunk at the time. They said they carried her from one spot to another. Each of them faces a jail term of up to two years or fine or caning or any two of the punishments.
