25-year-old jailed for sex with minor

A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for two weeks and fined $8,000 for underage sex with a minor.
The girl, who was a month short of her 16th birthday, gave birth to a baby boy in March 2010.
A paternity test showed that the accused was the biological father of the baby, who is being cared for by the victim.
The accused had admitted on Tuesday to having sex with the 15-year-old girl at a staircase landing at Block 628 Bukit Batok Central sometime in August 2009.
He was then 23, and had met her about a week earlier through her male friend.
He could have been jailed for up to five years and fined up to $10,000.
As he could not pay the fine, he will serve another four weeks' jail in default.
