2 arrested for loansharking activities

POLICE arrested two men on Tuesday for suspected involvement in loansharking activities in two separate cases. A 48-year-old suspect was caught in the vicinity of Commonwealth Crescent after police were informed of a man behaving suspiciously in the area. Officers found a screwdriver, a pen marker and a newspaper with writings, believed to be related to loansharking activities, in the suspect's possession.
In the other case, officers spotted a man behaving suspiciously at the fourth floor of a block at Jalan Rumah Tinggi. Upon questioning, the 36-year-old suspect was placed under arrest for suspected involvement in loansharking activities and the items were seized as case exhibits. Preliminary investigations revealed that both suspects are believed to have assisted in loanshark harassments.
