From some 1 stop ID+construction company. I am comparing few quotation, to the point i even break them down to re-do one toilet, hacking one wall, flooring per sqft to compare.

Of course the cheap one maybe engage one do the flooring and wall tile, another one for electrical , another one for ceiling... that needs a lot of time and coordination.
Also workmanship is a concern.. can not settle with 10% cheaper but crap job.

You have anyone to recommend that can do all these with much cheaper price?

ID is good but they also sub a lot of jobs to other contractors.. So sometime it might make sense to get a main con or someone willing to project manage for you.. I pm later tonight my contacts..

Yes, it's true that we need to pay only RM1 for medicine from government hospital. But because it's so cheap the queue is normally very long you have to literally take one day off or waited a few hours even before their operating time. I have been in singapore for almost a decade now so I don't know if things have changed. The latest I heard from my Malaysia friends, the hospital now offer medicine delivery service at RM5 for delivery cost.
Another reason people are going to private hospitals in Malaysia is because of the service and most ward are not air conditioned. Also, because following check up and everything else is so time consuming due to the queue. But I still feel no matter what, it's still an option - hope for those people who cant afford private hospitals.
As for foreigners in malaysia, I have no idea how the subsidy works for them. My family consists of both Singaporean and Malaysian. There was once my Singapore sister admitted at Sultanah Aminah Hospital due to severe food poisoning. She was hospitalized for a night. The nurse told us since she is a foreigner, she will be charged more. We expected it's going to be expensive. End up the hospital bill cost RM30 and it's still a joke for us now and still wonder how much will it cost for Malaysian.

Thanks for bring this up Battleangel.

Despite being a SPR, I am glad that you are not blind to the challenges that Singaporeans face and also not beholden to the establishment who has gifted you the status.

Singaporeans is not aware of the retirement woes that may befall them.

I hope we wake up to that and be prepared.

lol. I speak Malay fluently but I don't know what this meant too.
"Sukan bukan rakyat Msia" was translated to "Malaysian citizens not sporting" because direct translated "sukan" is sport in Malay.

My guess, might be typo by whoami "Bukan rakyat Msia" or "Saya bukan rakyat Msia" = I'm not Malaysian.

Thanks bro. Very clear explanation and have fully understood the mechanism. Cheers

Hey DoA,

For malaysian, if you see GPs in the government hospital ( for minor cases like coughing, fever, flu ), you pay RM1 for the examination and medicine. If the GPs could not handle you, they refer you to the specialist clinic and you will have to pay for RM5. However, if you get a referral from a private GP and see the specialist in the government hospital, you will be charged RM30. Surgery wise, you need to pay for some of the instrument cost such as implants etc but the procedure fees is minimal in most of the cases.

People still get medicine from private pharmacies coz they couldnt care about the waiting time. Besides, some of the medicine used in government hospital are generic.

Wow bro, that sounds a plan! Definitely luxury but agree that the price is quite exorbitant.

I don't know anything about ID and contractor quotations just yet, but to comfort you, even if you were to spend the entire sum that you have listed, the total value of your investment will still be well below what the others are asking in the resale market for laguna. (yes, strictly to make u feel Better only - that u had entered the right time

For the Glass roof, why not consider their aluminium louvre for a cheaper option, they selling at RM2,500 ... I think it serves the purpose very well

The glass roof initial thought is to able to hv a sitting area rain or shine.. of course if unable to find an alternative, will jus install what the developer has.

Rought calculation, exclude furniture and electronic appliances, going to cost me ard RM130k to achieve something i am ok with.. maynot be exactly what i really wan interms of materials and design but something i can accept.. hv to strike a balance in between what i want and wat deem worthy. .

Cause i am going to spend a lot in my entertainment room.. lol..
Will install 1 Movie theatre system and 1 karaoke system independantly.. can hv party at home..
(Eyeing on Sharp 70" LED, only minus point it does not come with 3D)

Bro bbbear,

Could you elaborate more on the "Masterbathroom enlarge and change one whole wall to Glass panel" concept? sounds really interesting.

I associated something like this.

http://st.houzz.com/simages/83602_0_4-6024-modern-bedroom.jpg

Some hotel actually use this kind of concept too. Open concept and lower down the blinds if privacy is needed. Been to a few such hotels myself. Our bro is very adventurous with his design.

http://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-s/02/5a/41/38/the-bathroom-with-see.jpg

Of course he has to extend the full wall due to the existing design layout. When he mentioned enlarge, I presumed that he wanted to put in a bathtub or jacuzzi or sauna cubicle.

I have similar concept in mind but not as large a scale as his

Understand bro. But that glass roof will reduce your airiation I think. I'm also not sure if it will create some green-house effect and if you would feel warm sitting under it? And at night, if u have a lot a lot of plants in the courtyard, take note that plants will take in oxygen at night, instead of carbon dioxide. Im not sure if u would feel stuffy becausw of this and The effect might be insignificant, but just thought I would share what I still remember I learned in school lol

Anyway, bases on what I have seen so far, I would choose the aluminium louvre

I saw the banner for The 70" sharp. Have not seen it at the electronics shop yet. It certainly will look incredible in one (out of six) of your huge rooms  best to knock down one wall to combine two rooms into one

Hehe, I tried to translate his sentence but still catch no ball. Not sure why sports were mentioned. Bro whoami, u better clarify

Paiseh paiseh. Typo error. It should read as "saya bukan rakyat Msia"..."I am not Msia citizen". Nothing to do with "sukan" or "sports".

I asked before and was told that tax will be levied (5%) on the interests earned if the deposit amount is more than 50k and tenure is less than or equal to 12 months. Actually, forgot whether it's 50k or 100k threshold. To overcome this, bank will place multiple sum of 50k (or 100k pending confirmation on which figure is correct) for period up to 12 months (assuming one opts for 12-month FD). I have not heard of tax being levied based on amount of interests earned

I could be wrong so please feel free to correct
