Mr. 施明德 case of Red Shirt Army assembly & procession Verdict this Friday

Mr. 施明德 & 16 other key members of his famous Red Shirt Army Anti-Corruption Campaign against 陈水扁, had been charged with Illegal Assembly and Procession besieging the Presidential Palace in 2006, which is THE SAME TIME AS OUR WB/IMF Speakers' Cornered protest.

The verdict is expected on Friday 20.Feb.2009 for Mr. 施明德 and his co-defendents.

Mean while trial resumes for myself & other co-defendents for WB/IMF Speakers' Cornered tomorrow in Sub Court (court 15?) the other case which was for anniversary of WB/IMF was just adjourned some 2 weeks ago. :-)

I remember 3 years ago at Spreakers' Cornered, we were in middle of stand-off against famiLEE LEEgime matas during WB/IMF, I was kept busy monitoring what was going on in Taipei where our friend Mr. 施明德 & 16 others led his 1 million strong Red Shirt Army beseiging Ah Bian's Istana. :-) Their movement inspired and motivated me very much.

This Friday 20.Feb.2009 we will hear the verdict from Taiwanese Court about Red Shirt Army's campaign, and accordign to Yahoo's news above they will not appeal if convicted as a sign of protest agianst the UNCONSTITUTIONAL LAW Banning Freedom of Assembly & Procession. We are fighters against the same thing in different parts of Asia. The Reform Spirits and Goals are identical. The great difference is in the scale. They had a million crowd!

Friday, 20.Feb.2009 Mr. 施明德 & his Red Shirt Army Protesters will Return to The Same Street before Presidential Istana to Await the court's verdict! So watch the news!

On Friday 20.Feb.2009 Taiwanese Court ACQUITTED all 16 leaders of the famous Red Shirt Army led by Mr Shih Ming Teh 施明德 from charges of ILLEGAL ASSEMBLY & PROCESSION. Mr. Shih & his fellow Red Shirt Army gathered again at the same spot of their 2006 protest to await for their verdicts, and they protested against this unconstitutional law.

Mr. Shih hope that this acquital will be come case law and judiciray precident for future cases.

Their action involved a million strong Red Shirt Army that surrounded Corrupted Chen Shui Bian in his Istana an beseiged him for days.

According to Mr. Shih in an interview after military coup in Bangkok overthrew Thug-Sin, at one stage he prevented Red Shirt Army from breaking into the seiged Istana to sieze Ah Bian. If he did not stopped it would had been a coup in Taiwan just like what happened to Thug-Sin.

Mr. Shih stopped the would-be-coup because of his faith with democracy.

施明德一度激动哽咽，他感性的说，就算是第一次听自己的宣判，都没这一次沉重。

同案被告包括施明德、简锡阶、沈智慧、魏千峰、李新、王丽萍、张富忠、刘坤鳢、罗淑蕾、范可钦、盛治仁、郭素春、郑龙水、李永萍、姚立明、林正杰等16人，全部获判无罪。

施明德约下午4点钟时步行抵达“白色恐怖受难者纪念碑”前并席地而坐听宣判，约15分钟后律师李念祖到现场告知宣判无罪。施明德表示，等待听宣判的时刻，心情百感交集，不是喜悦、哀悼，也不是痛苦，是经过历史的沉重感。

Mr. Shih Ming Teh felt more touched by this verdict than his 1st.

His 1st case was the most famous court martial of Taiwan ROC.

That was 美丽岛 case, in which Shih & others including ex-VP 吕秀莲 etc.

The accused were at one stage facing death penalty for mutiny & insurrection. Mr. Shih then staged his world record hunger-strike for 4.5 years in which KMT regime kept him alive by force feeding milk via nose feeding tubes. The prison recorded 7000+ times of tube changes which should be a world record.
