Isrizal & Shafi'ie on their way to High Court to join QRP Resort Club as our latest members this morning. Dozen of activist went to High Court to send our Honorable and Truthful friends off, I could only send them off from this street corner outside High Court because I was myself rushing to Sub Court for Speakers' Cornered trial (old dog thief's birthday 16.Sept.2006 WB-IMF). Activists including those on their way to jail are all high spirit and cheerful as this video shows them crossing the road. Singaporeans can assure famiLEE LEEgime that their oppressive charges and sentences doses not deter people's fighting spirit but instead fueled stronger fights.

The truth is in this world there are more than famiLEE LEEgime's courts being attacked and criticized for unfairness and lack of independence etc, however while some regimes are confident and steady to conduct themselves, and maintained their own styles, famiLEE LEEgime uniquely is the COWARD THAT CLEARLY DISPLAYED THEIR OVER-REACTIONS. This is no other indications that the activists had hit them on the right spot correctly and effectively for these panic responses to display their weakness and vulnerability. famiLEE LEEgime is so far the least confident and most cowardly bastard showing clear signs that they can not take it when there are just 3 activists wearing these simple T-shirts. In contrast, the Myanmar Junta audaciously shot the protesting monks and then sat down and shake legs as the entire world criticized, the junta bastards are confident that they will get away with that thus they don't display any response towards criticism. You can call junta's court Kangaroo they won't even be bordered.

:-)

Thanks for your support.

Please also support other fighters who are fighting the famiLEE LEEgime. :D

It is quite ordinary for some disagreements among fighters, but don't let the LEEgime wedge in between our fighters and stir. We are all aware of their lame tricks all these years. ;)

I supported many fighters, without expecting to get anything in return from anyone. Nothing will discourage me and high price to be paid will not stop me. I have the resolve and means to get to my goal. Being misunderstood or what not, are small matters of no considerations to me.

I won't even bother to explain. Chinese idiom said 做大事不拘小节,抓紧要点,不可因小失大。Therefore I should never put these little matters on my mind to cause more important things to be missed.

:rolleyes::cool:

I feel sorry for Shafi'ie. He is still so young and could have a bright future ahead.

Sadly, he was used by Chee Soon Juan. Chee had clearly pyschoed this impressionable youth to fight for irrational beliefs. Its just like Jihadist pyscho young people to become sucide bombers. This is just wrong. Dr.Chee is truely dispicable to sacrifirce a youth's future.

What a waste, Now Shafi'ie has to live with a criminal record for the rest of his life.

I wish him all the best!

Why are they not learning from your great friend Nair and emigrate? After all Nair says Australia (with tough immigration laws) will welcome you "fighters" with open arms?

Or why don't they take Ng E jay as role model and pay up? No money?

These 3 cases the kangaroo court ordered imprisonment and no fine. You can not pay to stay out of jail one. I don't think there is anything wrong with Mr. Ng paying fine. He fought and joint the actions and therefore he had contributed his part already. Please let him do within his own limits and considerations, please don't force him.

my friend, sometimes the famiLee doesn't need to do anything cos some of the fighters just wanna to be more outspoken, out-shined and out-attentioned. at worst, there would be discord sowing that create doubts between each others in order that he could be outstanding amongst all. or at worst, very self-opinionated people would intensely ignore other's alternative views. again, friction and internal conflict are already building up.

disunity and unconfident in each other have already paved the road to internal conflicts and pettiness and lost track of the bigger picture.

Yes, well spotted.

Perhaps, but I think then Ng E-Jay probably should not have appeared to show that he was going to stand trial, for eg. see the way SDP site's potrayed his apparent conviction of courage prior to the trial (along with the rest of the 18) and appealing for funds and legal representation. Appears to be a flip flopper, inconsistent, a neophyte and lacks credibility. Btw no one is "forcing" him to do anything that he does not wish to do. But likewise he needs to account for actions/conduct. Perhaps he should have thought carefully before embarking on this particular journey, do not start what you may not be prepared to see through to the end.

no one's forcing but does one knows he's being exploited and mis-used?

That Old Yappy Dog says he and his 2 Wallaby cronies are in 'blissful heaven'.
Exactly like those 'friends' of theirs with common afflictions residing in IMH and grinning & staring at u between the bars when u visit there.:D

“This is a case of foolish people doing foolish things…If you want to do something worthwhile please choose your fight wisely. Anyway, SDP is a confused party full of people who is not concerned about citizen’s issues but of their own cause.”

So what would you consider worthwhile leh? What fight would you consider to be wisely chosen? Only the fights that can be won? Which part of SDp’s cause is not the citizen’s issues? Your rights? Not your issue? The fairness of the judiciary? Not your issue? (well most likely not unless you are at the receiving end of it, of course) A more level field for opposition parties so they can be YOUR voice? Not your issue? So you are concerned with bread and butter. But if you don’t even have a system that effectively represents your concern, then you think your issues will even be addressed?

I do agree that SDP has lots to improve on, needs to be more organised, and sometimes need to be less militant if they need to convince people of their credibility. I would hesitate too, to vote SDP during the elections…

But it riles me whenever people put down these guys who are AT LEAST trying to do something for the people of Singapore. And they are doing in spite of people like you who mocks them for wasting their time. Where was your voice when they were speaking up against the minister pay hike? When they were questioning the HDB flat prices? When they spoke up about the CPF issues?

All you do is be silent and cynically mock people who are trying to help. Sheesh…

“Vivian Balakrishnan was apparently an opposition figure in his uni days. How much of an agent of change is he now in the PAP?”

not when you pay him millions. Cut the millions and perhaps we will see CHANGE.

“Even our MM Lee started of as opposition figure. ”

nope, he started off as a Japanese translator. oops.

“Secondly, think about it for a minute. If Shaf’ie had apologized. You think he can hold his head high? You think people will follow his leadership if he ever was thrust into that role? Or you think people will see a person who chickened out?”

the way I see things right now, Dr Chee never ever chickened out. The question is, will people follow his leadership even though he NEVER chicken out before?

sighs, taxpayers’ money down the drain for charging those three and feeding them in Changi prison, which will serve ABSOLUTELY nothing for the state. Imagine how much people can be helped with that amount of money……oh i forgot, ensuring silence is more important.

Having met and talked to Shafie on several occasions, though just briefly, the one thing you notice about him is that he always has a smile on his face, an easy and friendly disposition.

Though I feel sad that he is given 7 days in jail, I know that he will be ok - and he will come out smiling.

I do not know what AG Walter Woon intends to prosecute the 3 for simply wearing t-shirts, even if they were of kangaroos. Personally, I feel the AG should spend his time on more important cases.

But whatever it is, such persecution, in the name of protecting the integrity of our courts, may just have the opposite effect.

Shafie, and the rest, will not be deterred. Of that, I am quite sure.

I only hope that prison will not remove the smile from Shafie.

Indeed, I know it won’t.

Shafie, by accepting the jail sentence, has shown that he is made of sterner stuff.

The 3 were convicted of contempt of court and then asked if they would apologise. Would they be jailed if they had apologised? Only god and the judge would know. The black mark stems from the conviction for contempt of court, not whether they went to jail. Going to jail is the punishment imposed for the conviction.

There are 2 issues: First, is wearing the t shirt a crime worthy of the State to prosecute in the High Court, bearing in mind the cost to taxpayers and Singapore’s image in the world. Second, does the punishment fit the crime, if it is a crime? Incidentally, besides going to jail, the 3 were also ordered to pay more than $15,000 costs to the attorney general.

Seriously, nation was built with people like this, and I respect that together with most of the people here. While your voice choose to remain small. Well, keep it that way. Unless, you agree that we all are not living in oppression. Oppression that keep us people small, oppression that deny affordable housing, Oppression to allow to think and speak what is injustices! Oppression to make us think our leaders are not greedy and incompetent.

Then we wouldn’t need TOC, would we? For those that like to keep their voice small, and do not want to go give this boy some encouragement. That’s fine. But remember this, next time you complain, you do remember that you made your choices. Talk is really cheap..

TOC 82) gemami on December 13th, 2008 8.03 am Dear jefj0901,

I don’t think your description of Shafi’ie as being foolish is a correct one to begin with. I believe Shafi’ie was being more naive than foolish but who can blame him or anyone for that matter, myself included, if we have been told time and time again that our court is a fair and just one?

You see, when they wore the kangaroo T-shirts to court, did they counted for one moment that the AG would personally come after them for showing contempt for the courts? The top prosecutor of the land coming after 3 young man who have barely attained adulthood. Hell, I don’t even know what constitutes contempt, let alone do something purposely to show contempt. The laws are interpreted by the ones who make their living in the courtyard of the court.

Did anyone from the court approach thses young men to tell them that their act counted for contempt, and that they ought to remove the T-shirts they were wearing, failure of which, charges would be brought against them? No; it was the AG who somehow heard of the incident and decided to go after them days and weeks after the episode.

A warning would have made a bigger impact, both for the benefit of the accused and our own court of law. No one could then question that our courts are power hungry.

Even if they are guilty of the crime, shouldn’t the court find it in itself to be fair and just and take into consideration the age and naivety of the accused and to consider jail time as an absolute necessity? What court of law we have that has no qualm to send one of its young sons to jail just so that it can protect its integrity, when the question of integrity was raised on its own accord? How many of us knew of this kangaroo t-shirt incident if the AG had not blown it out of proportion?

Yes, three young life have been tarnished but the fault lies very much with our kangaroo court even as you may argue over the folly of these young men. Which one of us have not done stupid things in our young adulhoods?

Sibeh loso fella don't be so long-winded leh.
