Production error in 600,000 phones means 'pebble blue' version will be in short supply

tomorrow - but the blue version is going to be tough to find once the initial batch runs out.
Sources say that, due to a manufacturing error at one of Samsung's production plants, the
company has had to chuck out up to 600,000 back covers. The error has only affected the
blue version of the battery covers, and Samsung is now urgently ramping up production to
fix the shortfall.
Until then, many shops are likely to be pushing the white model on to owners until new batches
come in.
The S3 is likely to be one of the best-selling phones of the year, with carriers already pre-ordering
nine million models across the world.
With carriers expected to ship most of these phones within the first few weeks of sale - production
issues aside - the S3 is likely to be the fastest-selling gadget of all time.
