An unemployed woman was hauled to court yesterday for a string of offences that ranged from theft, impersonation and cheating to aiding an unlicensed moneylender.
Koh Bee Suan, 42, pleaded guilty to stealing the identity card of Ms Karen Ho Sen Lim in August last year to buy three mobile phones.
According to court documents, the accused stole the identity card from Ms Ho at the National University of Singapore.
She was also said to have helped an unlicensed moneylender - whom she only knew as Sam - by opening a UOB savings account in her name on July 15 last year.
Koh would then hand over the ATM card to Sam, who used it for debtors wanting to make repayments.
Finally, the accused was said to have used the identity card at the Clementi Police Division on Sept 5 last year.
It is not known what she used it for.
Her case will be mentioned again on Oct 14. Zul Othman
