I am not so sure. With a cap, the syndicates will know the timing. Without cap, technically the sky the limit. No one will know for sure when the JP drops. With a cap, the syndicates just need to engage FT to horde the machines....

The syndicates usually operate with the assistance of an inside man. This is often some lowly paid tech or maintence person who knows the settings of the machines. When the JP is ripe, he will tip off the syndicate who will then mobilise their members to play all the machines 24x7.

I have also heard stories of how in some cases the ringleaders are casino staff themselves. As casino staff, they are not allowed to play. They therefore tie up with some friends. When the JP is ripe, they will alert these friends who will come and play in numbers. When the JP drops, they will then split the proceeds.

So why pay the 3% if you dont have any chance of hitting it?

It is not then you don't have a chance of hitting it. Rather it is that if you hit it, you get a small miserable JP.

As an example, suppose the JP starts at $10,000. Lots of people play and JP swells to $50,000. The JP is ripe. The regulars and syndicates move in. They occupy all the seats and play 24x7. You walk by and want to play but cannot find a free seat. The JP drops and the winner walks away with $50,000.

The JP is reset to $10,000. Nobody plays and the area is deserted. As a casual player, you drop by and happily play the machines which were previously so popular. Luck is with you and you strike the JP. You however win only a miserable $10,041.

If you area a casual player, you will most likely be the Robert that plays when the JP is small (e.g. $10,000). You will never get a chance to play when the JP is big and ripe (e.g. $50,000).

I won Gold Rush JP2 last evening $4,950+ Bro Mindless, were you there, saw me?
Purchased my annual levy on Monday, 2nd visit on Tuesday and won Gold Rush JP2 :p. My initial plan was to play at Island delight yesterday (JP1 40k+ already), but no luck to get my favarite 5K machine. Therefore, switched to Gold Rush area, started my game when the JP2 was $4,200+, picked my favorite 5K machine, stayed to the same machine from 7PM+ to 11PM + and won JP2.
I deserved the winning ?
I started my game from 7PM+ when JP2 prize pool was only $4,200+, there was less than 10 players at Gold Rush area, when JP2 prize reaching $4800 many players started to join in, perhaps I was the person who played at Gold Rush from 7PM+, I played the longest hours (about 4hours) non-stop at a constant bet of 60cr/spin, therefore, I gained the highest chance to hit the JP??
What do you think guys? Max bet (higher bet) player gain a higher chance to win the JP or longer play time player with ave bet gain a higher chance ?
My previous JP1 winning experience at Island Delight was quite smiliar to my yesterday winning, I stayed to the same 5K machine for about 11hours!! contantly bet 150cr / spin non-stop (except toilet time), and I won JP1.

Congrats. I wasn't there when you won. What a welcome gift for you.......hahahaha.

Definitely the longer play time player has the higher chance. But, need to manage BR to sustain the play time

I will concur with Bro Mindless here..I think its more of the playtime.

I dont really play progressive..but I remember last time round when I played..I was playing like 150 credits and 200 credits, 2 hours straight and got burned badly. Didnt even hit JP3...
So I dont think bigger credit higher chance fo JP. Playtime counts.

However I noticed that for stanbdalone, bigger credits tend have a better payback compared betting minimum.

Lastly, I am going for a cruise this weekend. Anyone have any experiance playing slots in cruise ships? Easier to hit compared with casino or they are tighter?

Thanks guys and Merry Christmas

Bro Kia wrote a FR of how he got "slotted" on a cruise. Maybe you should just focus on the buffet and drinks.

I'm staying away....have been losing too much.So better watch and enjoy reading all the excitement here. Gambling is just too expensive for me and I've also lost interest in playing slots after several mega losses chasing the JP.

Thanks for sharing the good news! Well done!!! Good Luck to all brothers here with their slots and good luck to JJcc too....HUAT!!!

You mean Virgo? I have been slaughtered by King Kong Cash last Sept 2011. :(
Althought I seldom go cruise these days but if you ask me whether their slot machines are tighter, my answer is YES. Why? Because, the weekend trip used to be CNW (Cruise Nowhere) schedule, CNW casino operation hours from Friday 10PM ~ Sunday 9AM non close. However, they have made a slight change this year, the cruise departs Singapore on Friday 8:30PM and stop at Port Klang from Sat 8AM ~ Sat 8PM (12hours), during this 12 hours, they shutdown the casino, which simply means there is no income for 12 consecutive hours, players have 12 hours lesser to spend inside the casino too. So one way for Virgo to "recover" their 12 hours no income is to make adjustment to the slot machines payout percentage. No matter how low the payout percentage, players will still play the machines coz they do not much time to spend.
In brief:
To Virgo - Shorter operation hours - Adjust Lower payout percentage + 99% machines occupied = Recover their 12hours non-income period.
To Players - Shorter play time - play whatever machine that is available + continue to play even payout is bad coz no choice + may bet higher than their regular amount due to shortage of play time = lost more / lost faster.

Ah thanks for the feed back Kia..

I am going on the Libra. Another CNW...to spend Christmas ...so goes I'll just go and test water abit la...

Anyway guys ..just to confirm something... I was messing with the 50lions emulator...and as usual I tried feeding the machine and trying to get all lions  (for fun). So, I keep gambling away all my reasonable 5k-10k wins. Guess what..at one point of time...a 4k stake I manage to turn it to a 1,500,000.00 credit by guessing the suite all the way. By then the emulator was making a huge loss....50k in paid out 58k.

You guys think it works that way for real land casinos? I always have a feeling that the slot will "vomit" something back eventually. Never thought that it will payback through the gamble section. Thoughts anyone?

Merry Christmas to all...

I do lookout for slot that produce a string of red (or black) card in the gamble feature. So i'll gamble 3 times on the same color before take win.

RWS slot machines have the Gambling feature but not MBS.
The gambling feature at RWS works different from the emulator, it allows max gamble 9,999credits (regardless 2cts/5cts/10cts) and max 5 rounds which means with you win 9999 x 2 (double up) = 19,998credits won, for the 2nd round gamble it will still allows only 9,999credits and not 19,998, therefore, the max winning that you can gain from gambling feature is 9999 x2 =19998 + 9999+ 9999+ 9999 = 49,995credits.

By the way, the 50lions emulator is set at 93~95% payout rate if I am not wrong. If you still lose to the emulator that payout at 95%, imagine how much you going to lose if you play at MBS, their payout is 90% ~93%. All machines will "vomit" eventually but nobody knows when. Non-progressive machines "vomit" more often than those with progressive, this is for sure.

I have been to Libra 2 years ago, CNY crusie (one night only). Their machines are "classic"! Games like Return of Samura, Cameron, Tango are my favarites :p Well, not known if they have already replaced with new machines like 50Lions, 50Dragons, 5Dragons, etc coz they are just too popular. Please update me when you return, thanks. I would like to go if Libra is here till CNY.

Good Luck hotrocks, win big big !!

Received another X'mas "gift" from RWS last evening :p Surprise winning from 3 machines. 5cts 5Koi (machine 1203) non-progressive locates along the main walkway from the entrance towards the stage. Hit Cai x10, Lu x 10 from 2 feature games (back to back) total payout over 40,000credits. 2nd machine - 5cts Samurai Master (Orchids Room) hit feature spin within 50 spins, bet 100credits x 20lines (cheat 10lines), not sure what I hit but total payout about 20,000credits, 3rd machine 5cts HIV (Holiday in Venice in Orchid room too), hit feature spin pretty soon, retriggered 3x = 60free spins total payout 39,000+credits. :p:p Intital winning 4k+ but just like most people, hang around and $100 here and $200 there, eventually 1k+ gone. So brought home net win 3k.

Discovered some new 2cts Aristocrat machines at RWS last evening. Locate at smoking area, near to previous 5cts CE location. Tried a few of them, Tiger Princess, Kolar Wild, Wild Splash, and 2 more other games which I forgot the names, The Tiger Princess, I think the pay table is really low, full house A pays only 50 or 100 credits ! I played 150cr and hit my first feature spin, it retriggerred at least 6x total spin more than 30 times but paid less than 2,000cr. Another time bet 250credits payout 3,500cr. :(
Other new Aristocrat machines like Dragon Empire and Dragon Emperor ( the REMIX ) which are not ready yet, I can't wait to play! :o and many more IGT new cabinet machines Serbrian Tiger, Lilybird version II, Kitty Glitter, etc avialable at this area.
Happy hour last evening, no gain no lose, earned 100+GP and gift vouchers.
P/S: No chance to play at Island delight, many chasing after JP1, eventually the 45.6k JP1 prize "drops" to an uncle who played 25credits 2can machine 101.

Hi Bro KIA..

Hope you had a good christmas..thanks for your explanation. MAkes lots of sense.

Well just got back from the cruise. Not that many choices of slots mostly Aristrocrate's.. Choi Sun Do...Indian Dreaming..50 Dragons. And yes its hard to find an empty slots. Lots of players ..and not many slots. I played on ID and ah...lost a bunch about 500. I dont like the game but no choice. Moved on to 100 Lions. hit feature during 2nd spin. Won 200 bucks. Then moved on to 50D. That was ok put in about 500 got back about 400. Hit JP3 ..for 22.50 lol...by the way the jp is knda small...I remember JP1 was at 31k..knew no chance for it to drop. And the JP starts from an absurd min..JP3...from 20..JP2 from 500. I think all the slots were linked, hence..the JP amount is quite unattractive.

By then I was tired so went to play poker instead. Won about 350 there and call it quits. Overall lost about 200 only ahahaha... not bad for 4 hours of fun. Bro Kia, Libra embarks from Penang only and not from P. Klang. I guess it to cater for the Penangnites to gamble... Its its quite err..poorly maintained. The room reeks of smoke..and overall it (it could be me) didntt really cut it for me. I guess its more about the crowd. I was playing slots beside a poontoon table and this uncle betting 50 bucks were like shouting picture..picture..siam siam from the top of his lungs. Somemore ...telling other poeple not to draw cards..and so on. Duh..all for 50 bucks.

Anyway..nice to read about your win at RWS. Keep it up and may the new year reward you with numerous JP1 JP1 JP1...lolol

bro Kia, since these machines are new - the replaced machines have given out the 90% of the revenue?

Hi. I believed machines are replaced for various reasons. One of them is to make way for newer machines to attract/retain customers. In the IRs, there are some very popular games and there are those that hardly anyone plays. Eg JP Party, Back to the Future, Idiana Jones are some of the least popular games. I think the Bally machines are also not very popular.

Cheers Bro Kia. Now I can relate better to your FR......

They are still new and I have only been there once, don't know how's the payout % like, these new games don't seem to attract me and probably not going to spend much time on them. Meanwhile, I am waiting for another group of new Aristocrat machines to open, one familiar game is among this group of machines - Dragon Emperor and I think I am going to like it. :p

Was at RWS yesterday and saw the new 2cts section which is relatively huge if compare to island delight or the 2cts machine at smoking section... I'm glad RWS finally increased their 2cts machine, esp. aristocrat models and the dragon emperor look interesting.

I will be having a go with these new machines on new year eve with afew of my buddies .

Hope u guys win more at the new section.
