Benjamin Marc Wee has positioned himself as a successful eBay millionaire who makes a lot of money selling PS3s, adult toys and many other items. He is a highly persuasive individual who has managed to persuade and mislead victims into believing that he is a highly successful entrepreneur.

Through this misrepresentation, he has deceived an unknown amount people in parting money to him for personal coaching in hopes of learning eBay business strategies to apply to their own businesses and knowledge. Amounts have been paid personally to Benjamin Marc Wee has ranged from $2000 to $10,000. Apart from Singapore, Benjamin Marc Wee has gone to other countries such as Malaysia and Hong Kong to conduct internet consulting courses.

His modus operandi is to convince victims that he has prolific knowledge of the eBay business structure, and then persuade victims to take up personal coaching courses, or to invest cash with him to purchase products to resell them later online to other markets.

Things that Benjamin Marc Wee claims:

Own and manage 100 ebay accounts
Manage a virtual team of over 60 people running his ebay business(s) for him and able to outsource the entire logistic chain from listing to fulfillment of the products.
He verbally claimed to many students during one of his workshops he owns vistagamingproducts (A platinum powerseller on eBay) http://myworld.ebay.com/vistagamingproducts/
He posted on his Twitter account that his net income is 8 figures per year (Do note that by taking the lowest scale is at least 10 million dollars per year.)
He owns a plane – which he often utilizes for travel within Malaysia and Thailand.
He owns multiple cash businesses in Thailand.
He owns a few landed properties at the East area of Singapore (which has been proven untrue)
Claims to work closely with Capital Optical to sell their products.
He is in close connections to members of the Royal family in South Africa.
Invested well over 40 million dollars in Hong Kong finance markets.
Has claimed that AXN/Discovery channel is hiring him to do a documentary on sourcing in China.To know and work with the staff of eBay Singapore closely to run official eBay workshops in the Asean region.
Claims to earn over 8 figures yearly in Internet Marketing Events and Advertising Material (http://globalinternetsummit.com/malaysia/penang/edmundloh/index3.php)
Things you should question about him if you come across him.

Ask him which eBay store/account he actually runs. If he refuses, question why. If he states a name or store entity, Google and research on the owner of the account.
Google him online to search whether he owns any eBay entities or products.
Things he has done to leverage on personal publicity

Deceived Stuart Tan into collaborating into starting courses and writing a Straits Times Best Selling book with him to leverage his status as a credible author and businessman. Books have since been withdrawn from bookstores island since allegations of Benjamin’s background has surfaced.

Claims that after he coached Steve, Steve has been doing well in Thailand. He has since quit his job and making great money. But when I emailed Steve for a written testimonial on Ben’s coaching success. Steve replied that Ben has only talked to him for 1 hour in a no-internet hotel room. Nothing else has transpired since that meeting.
Conned another Elaine Lau to run a parenting magazine but has never done the work. All work has been done by Aloysius, Adwin & Nicholas
Literally begged victim Neo to loan him $3,000SGD so that he can go buy a ticket to go Hong Kong. He said that his money is stuck in the US so can’t channel the money fast enough. He signed an IOU promising to return the money on a stipulated date but has since defaulted on the payment. A copy of the IOU receipt has been published online in this site.
Treats the bank account of company bank account like his personal account.
Writes cheques from bank without any documentation or any writing on the cheque stub
Uses funds to pay for personal expenses without detailing information.
Had multiple excuses of delaying payment to staff and other partners.
What has transpired since:

Ex staff and partners have gone to the Singapore Police and CAD (Commercial Affairs Department) to file criminal reports against Benjamin Marc Wee.
Other victims have filed official police reports against Benjamin Marc Wee.
Victim, Neo has also filed a police report, and in addition hired a lawyer to successfully sue Benjamin Marc Wee. The Court of Singapore ordered Benjamin Marc Wee to pay victim, Neo, however Benjamin has since defaulted on payment.
The Court of Singapore has served a bankruptcy notice to claimed eBay ‘Millionare’ Benjamin Marc Wee. A copy of the court documents have been published on this website.

He wanted to go to China, bought himself a sim card.
Went to China, forgot to take the sim card.
His explanation was that the sim card was still lying on a table, in its wrapping, it looked like any piece of paper.
He also claims that when people ask him for money, he would just say "Take, take, take."

Although I'm tired of the content in the newspapers these days, it's funny stories like this that keeps me reading.
