World-Class Transport System

The North-East MRT line is currently down.

This is according to a tip-off to STOMP.

The source said the North-East line has been at a total standstill since 8.30am.

The trains are running already, but I have to wait almost 30 mins to get into a train, there are so many people! Welcome a new line but the other kaput.

SCORES of morning rush-hour commuters were stranded after service from Harbourfront to Serangoon stations on the North-East Line broke down at around 8.30am on Wednesday.

Passengers were informed that the train service was down at about 9am. Some passengers complained about indefinite delays.

Some Twitter users tweeted that they were told the delay was due to a technical problem with a door at Sengkang station.

Train service has resumed but is still slow, said some commuters.

I took the LRT to Sengkang station and there was a huge office crowd going to work and all are stained in the station.
They should announced it in the radio about the stoppage. I had to take bus service 80 to paya laber road and drops at tai seng station. And what the frak, the station was on the other side to the road and you have to walk a long distance to the traffice light and get into tai seng station.
They should hv bulit a overhead bridge to cross over. This is LTA sleeping on the job.
So, I have to take another bus service 70 down to Paya Lebar station and get off at Bugis station.
All in ALL, Frak up service and yet charging such a high fares.

Cam I asked for a refund of my train fare and bus fares for the SMRT Cock-up.

Be glad that you still have an alternative bus service to take. The FAPee TRAITORS are already planning to 'remove long-haul bus services'. If the trains break down in future, Sporns should be better off staying at home.

Agree with you there. With the dropping of long hual buses, that will mean these buses become feeder transport to MRT which will play the role of long hual transport, any failure in MRT will cause major disruptions. We do not need terrorists then and even these people will be out of a job.

Wonder why the top brains and million dollar ministers like to make single-point failures to a major infrastructure such as basic transportation.

GOvt fine them for what? We are the ones who suffer. Should fource them to operate free for a certain period more beneficial la.
