Between 1971 and 1976 there were 59,900 abortions in Singapore....thanks to LKY policy of Stop at two or be financially punished......
His Eugenics Policy was couched in "Family Planning" Slogan however in some of his speeches He categorically said that the poor must never be allowed to have more than 2 children in fact they should not have more than 1 child....
Remember in 1971 the Population of Singapore was less than 3million.
Now the abortions alone is 59,900 but do not miss the fact that many were on "Family Planning" which would have prevented the conception of at least another 120,000 babies....
It is a no brainer to conclude that LKY SINGLEHANDEDLY orchestrated and prevented the population growth of Singapore resulting in the present DIRES STRAITS Singapore is in....that is why We have to IMPORT all the TRASH from China, India, Bangla Desh, Myanmar, Philippines...
Also tens of thousands maybe hundreds of thousands of Women were "encouraged" and "persuaded" to ligate because they were not educated enough or are from poor families found out too late that when their financial and economic status improved WERE NO MORE able to conceive and produce.
All due to ONE MAN who played GOD on less informed citizens.

Tens of thousands of abortions are a lot better than tens of thousands of useless unwanted babies born to those who are not fit to be parents in the first place.

The importing of foreign talent isn't a result of abortions. It's done in an effort to improve the Singapore gene pool which is of poor quality.

You have to realise that most Sinkies are descendants of peasant stock from Southern China and Southern India while the native population come from generations of simple minded fishermen. Inbreeding within this gene pool has lowered the quality of the subsequent offspring even further. Evidence of this is all over the forum! Just look at the quality of posts, the standard of debate and the atrocious English and you'll see what I mean. Nobody expects perfection but the dismal standards here are a sight to behold!

A fresh injection of genes is needed in order to ensure diversity which is the principle upon which nature draws its strength. That's where foreign talent comes into the picture.

You can't accuse him for being a mass murderer....a mass modeler yes!, like Hitler!...in some aspect, the policy was tailored for certain segment of the country to curb the reproduction & hopefully the other segment continue at 2 or more...but this had backfired.

The many that could have, would have & should have being born, would fill up the shortfall today. The thing is, nobody dare to point this out!!

None of the 9 traits of inbreeding or genetic defects has happened to Singapore. That kind of inbreeding only happen to a very small population -for example, a den of lions or an isolated village of few human families.

The native population of Singapore is large enough for genetic engineers to have toyed with the (failed) policy of "Graduate Mother Scheme". It's large enough for a U-turn policy of "Have Three or More, If You Can Afford It."

You are focusing on the downside of micro inbreeding or even incest leading to genetic defects whereas expanding the gene pool refers to the upside of higher general level of intelligence and creativity of a nation (of people).

I guess you can argue either way. How small does a gene pool need to be before inbreeding becomes a problem?

I'm just looking at the net result and nobody can deny the fact that native born Singaporeans are exhibiting all the traits of excessive inbreeding. Take item 9 as an example, when SARS struck, Singapore had one of the highest mortality rates in the world despite all the efforts put in to contain the disease. EG Vietnam's death rate from SARS was 8%. Singapore's mortality rate was more than double that figure.

If that is not evidence of a suppressed immune system, I don't know what is.

That i think is why, some useless locals went into hiding.

First, check his real role as a "Translator" in the occupational Japanese Army in WW2, don't forget his kawan Prata man who say he work for the Japs in their "Transport Dept" which later we found no such dept.

Prata man was later head of ISD when LKY in power.
