Default Discusssions on Race - Guide-Ropes

    Folks

Though race and everything related to it are not off limits, please exercise care and articulate your viewpoints with sensitivity and have that dab of tolerance.

There are genuine grievances that are being aired. If you are unable to put across your viewpoints or articulate without resorting to profanities, large and coloured fonts akin to shouting, best that you do not take part. Most arguments that can't stand on its own can easily be put away by better arguments. Only the slow and the very slow will resort to anything else but putting across their arguments. This has nothing to do with your command of the language.

    Anyone who has been long enough in forums will know that those that can't express themselves, cannot follow logic let alone know what it is, or have no clue what the subject matter is will resort to one or many of the usual;
    - screaming fonts, bad graphics with zero substance
    - abusive language littered with profanities again with no substance
    - spamming of the same message with zero substance

Exceptions for the Elderly and the Insecured
    - I am aware that those who are getting on with age tend to use large fonts and colour for better contrast. No issues here.
    - I am also aware those who lack the confidence or feel insecure tend to write in bold,( meant for highlighting and headers) hoping that their point carries more weight. Again no issues.

If you are however a genuine bigot or racist, I can direct you to the appropriate row of supermarkets where rat poisons are carried. Liberally take it after you wake up and you should be fixed and there will one less for the world.

    It is true.

Just as we expect more fair-minded thinking Christians to speak up against the black sheep in their midst,

Just as we cheer when courageous moderate Muslims speak up against their fanatic jihadist co-religionists,

likewise let's NOT make the false label of 'MILITANT SECULARISTS' stick by the unthinking use of uncouth & bigotted language, hate-mongering etc.

There are some I use the 'Ignore' button - which has its pros & cons.

Pros - peace of mind, still, sometimes their filth still seeps through when others 'quote' their posts...

Cons - 愚者千虑,必有一得,sometimes once in a blue moon, some obnoxious people are capable of coming up with a gem of an idea.

Of course, there are some regular pests you know they are out to bait you, the more you engage them, the more you sustain them ....

Typical Singaporean despite migrating to Canada - poor comprehension. Profanities are not banned. You can fuck all around this forum and have all the fucking fun that you want. After all the genesis of this forum is porn. I hope you know what porn is? You need to smoke more weed to get rid of the PAP embedded mantra where instruction are given clearly and there is no reason think.

This thread is meant for slow learners who are naturally bad in logic and articulation and have a tendency to resort to profanities in the main in every post when sensitive issues are raised.

So don't be shy and limit yourself to the alphabet "F". Unless spelling besides comprehension is also a challenge.

There is actually no racism, it is just group selfishness because there is strength in numbers.

You will find almost every young child is not a racist but it is extremely hard to find one who will share his toys willingly. Racism is just a more evolved form of selfishness, same with all other kinds of discrimination.

    .
The myopic Chinese such as yourself need to realise when we discuss employment discrimination, be it racial or otherwise, we are not basically talking about racism per se. Strength in numbers is an illusion when there is no will. Just look at the Ah Beng if you do not believe me.

Age discrimination for instance is one that affects every Singaporean regardless of ethnicity. So too would those who have a handicap. How would you feel if you were wheelchair bound and were denied employment in an office that does not require travel at all but were denied simply cause you are in a wheelchair??

The 75% Ah Beng fears anti discrimination laws needlessly. He afterall makes up 75% of the population and has everything to gain from the protection such laws offer. Had he the foresight some 15 years ago, we would not be swept away by FTs today.

Oh yes...the resident village idiot - yellow_people is here to entertain us once again with his bittersweet life story of facing discrimination in getting a job.

Funny...i dun see the President complaining, who by the way is Indian. Or how about Dr Yakult (Malay)?

Nathan and Yaccob are token representation. I would explain tokenism in detail but it will be lost on moron Ah Bengs such as yourself. Anyway we can't expect imbeciles like you to know the difference however. Why else would LKY be obssessed with retaining the 75% majority?

All I want to say is if racism is only confined to your personal lives, then it is pretty much alright. As long as racism is not tolerated in public areas like employment, education, health, etc, I think that is fine. If people do not want to be friends with me because of my race, I don't really care as I probably do not want to be friends with them either. It is only a problem if I am denied equal opportunities or services or if I was physically or verbally abused because of my race.

I assume that you are only unhappy because of discrimination in the employment scene rather than people making snide remarks privately about your race. You can't control or legislate what people think or say in private. Besides, you can't be that weak to drop dead because of a few individual insults.
