Sultan Iskandar died on 22 January 2010 at the Puteri Specialist Hospital after being admitted earlier in the day following an illness.[7] Although he died around 7.15 p.m, his death was only officially announced at 11.20 p.m by the Menteri Besar of Johor Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman. His highness was buried in the Mahmoodiah Royal Mausoleum the next day at 2 pm. Before that, the public was allowed to paid their last respects to Almarhum Sultan Iskandar from early morning.[159]

The Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak[160] cut short his visit to India to attend his funeral. Other dignitaries who paid their last respects are the current Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah and Brunei's Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. Also present are Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.[159]

His son the Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ibrahim Ismail was proclaimed as the next Sultan of Johor also on January 23rd.

Was he the one that landed his personal helicopter in SINgapore?, the one that visits his dentist at Tanglin Shopping Centre?, near Orchard Rd?

Right, the one suka suka enter Singapore illegally. He treated Singapore as if it is part of his State. He forgot that his ancestors already sold Singapore to the British in 1819!

He still has a large piece of land next to the Botanic Gardens, and the sprawling graveyard and mosque opposite Vivo City, stone throw from Resort World.

Opposite VIVO is the burial site of the last Temmenging of Temasek, the real deal...now we have the 'emperor' of SINgapura!. Who is bigger!:p

Many of the houses ( the quaint looking ones) around the Botanic garden, is by Royal Charter, owned by the Crown Agents ( the crown on England), wonder if the land is covered under the Royal Charter also? that is so called owned by the Sultan of Johor.

The railway lines plus the land surrounding & the Railway station at Tg Pagar is owned by the CA also, handed over the the Federation of Malaysia, in one of the terms of seperation.

SINkingpore is a soverign country, while Johor is a State in the Federation of Malaysia...customs & good relationship, the Sultan was allowed a lot of 'looking away'...for some acts he did, like the helicopter thing. If it was CSJ or Uncle Yap flying that, 100% it will be shot down...

But then again, the only helicopter they fly would be...'playing with their weenie"..ha ha ha ha

Members have its privileges..Royalty & Diplomats & diplomatic staff are all higher mortals...:p

That caddie is waiting with a #9 iron...

Ya, the caddy was assaulted with a 9 iron by him in 1987 and died. Mahathir did not react immed but kept this incident for future use. Which he did (later when the sultan became king), when he needed the king's doby chop for him to sack the Chief Justice. Mentioned in the book by Barry Wain, " Mahathir: Malaysian Maverick".

This incident proved one of Keling's characteristic, they have long-sight and it is running in Mahathir's blood. So confirmed, Mahathir is decendent of Keling..................
