THE Censorship Review Committee (CRC) which was convened earlier this year will be carrying out a survey to get people's views on Singapore's current censorship regulations. Views will be sought on regulation of the entire media spectrum - from broadcast to publications, audio materials, the arts and new media. Video games also fall within the scope of the current review. The survey, will be carried out from next month. About 1,000 Singaporeans will be interviewed over a four-month period. It will cover issues like community perceptions and attitudes towards content in various media platforms, and what people think should be liberalised or not and will be carried out by research company Nielsen. The information gathered will be used for the first major review of Singapore's censorship rules since 2002. The Government wants to update them in view of the rapidly-changing media landscape fuelled by developments in new media. Members of the public can go online to give their views at the CRC's website, www.crc2009.sg, or by sending an e-mail to [email protected].

well, I have to admit I am skeptical. but then, if you never try, you'd never know. I'm just going to pretend they are sincere and feedback anyway. Hope everyone else can do the same.
