This project is not economically viable as it will only save a ship abt 5 to 7 days travelling time unlike the suez n Panama canels where the savings is in months.

Saves time
Saves fuel for crude carriers
By-pass Straits of Malacca a potential bottleneck and choke point for China which is likely to be block by the Americans and its allies there in time of conflict

The military will never support it..

They should welcome it as the canal allows it naval vessels to cross deploy between gulf if thailand and andaman sea without the need to sail through sinkieland. Which general will oppose this idea?

All the talks of creating a physical separation between the restive south is purely baseless. It might be the case during ancient time but in this modern era, canal, rivers etc are no longer a physical barrier.

I agree with you, but the Junta think otherwise though.

true, with stupid m&ds and their Malaysian Chinese pirated copy kings Tony Chat type better to bypass m&d land.

m&d land can be colonized by Pommies for 150 years shows how lazy they are. Enough of lazy and stupid neighbors, you cannot chose your neighbors, leave them to rot.

Build a sea strip in South Thailand to pass ships is a good alternative and kick lazy m&ds in their arse for good.

Over due alternative sea route and now China is strong in economic time to build now before Pommies and their 八国联军 shit thing to attack Far East Asia and SEA again.

Evil Whites now have Australia in Asia can launch an attack against North Asia anytime.

It might not be economic viable but it strategically viable for China who is interested to bypass it choking point on Straits of Malacca. To the Thai, it like obtaining a sponsorship to develop their economically backward Southern region.

Win-win for both China and Thai.

Yes they need 5 to 6 years to dig the canal but need another 30 to 50 years to make the decision...

If they build the canal, it has to be between dawei( tavoy) in myanmar and exit just south of bangkok. But this route is mountainous and quite long. If they build further south where the isthmus is narrow, its cheaper, no mountains but it location will not be perfect.so the conclusion, no canal will be built.

or it has to be along the thai-malaysian border which is way much longer than the narrowest point on the isthmus.

Now now, if this is the golden goose that Thailand been waiting for, I don't think they intend to share it with Malaysia.

For goodness sake, this project will never see the light of day. The current regime is going to get kicked out pretty soon and the monarchy's power and influence will be very much diminished in the future.

More importantly, the China money is drying up. OBOR needed the Kra Canal.

reason why canal not built is becoz.................the Rothschilds using S'pore as a military base to control shipping thru Straits of Malacca..............
