singapore broke down the contracts award to tracks, signalling, power lines, rolling stock while bangkok probably gave the contract to one manufacturer to do all these hence no mismatch of equipment.

Today is the 1st of February and let he race begin.

i am pleased to remind you that this is actually a handicap race between bangkok mrt and bts vs sinkieland mrt..to the advantage of sinkieland.

2 train systems of bangkok from a developing country vs 1 train system in sinkieland, the so called First world country. sinkieland needed such advantage in order to even try to gain ahead.

The breakdown of either one train system in bangkok will be recorded in the race so sinkieland has a true advantage... i mean sinkieland need a developed country to give them an advantage..

you need to give advantage to ball-less sinkies because being ball-less is considered a handicap.

On a rainy Friday night (Feb 19), SMRT did it again. Train service on the East-West Line (green) between Jurong East and Joo Koon was suspended for an hour from 5.43 pm to 6.42 pm.

http://www.theonlinecitizen.com/2016/02/smrt-breaks-lies-new-normal/

once again, MRT breakdowns again , so let's tally the score..

sinkie smrt breakdown 2

Bangkok mrt and bts breakdown 0

Giving sinkie mrt the handicap advantage also lose.. and lose to a developing country who is running the subway and there are 2 subways..

BTS had a problem on 24-2-16

BTS Meltdown
Crippled Skytrain repairs not expected until midnight

A switching problem that crippled Bangkok’s Skytrain mass-transit system Wednesday morning is not expected to be resolved until late tonight.

Anat Arbhabhirama, director for Bangkok Mass Transit System Plc, which operates the capital's two elevated electric train lines, said technicians discovered the equipment breakdown Tuesday night, but were unable to fix it before the system opened at 5am.

BTS hopes to have repairs completed by midnight, he said. The breakdown cut train frequencies in half and forced passengers to switch trains at Siam station, causing delays and long lines on the Skytrain's Sukhumvit Line.

The problems affected all passengers between the line's Bearing and Mo Chit terminus stations. Lines in some cases stretched out of stations, down stairs and into the street.

Mr Anat said the switch failure delayed each train arrival from the normal 2-3 minutes to 5-6 minutes and, in essence, broke the single Sukhumvit Line into two segments: Bearing to Siam, and Siam to Mo Chit, forcing all passengers to switch trains at the busy interchange with the Silom Line.

The Silom Line's operation was unaffected by the equipment failure, but suffered the same lines and congestion. In fact, the BTS meltdown had a pronounced knock-on effect on all of Bangkok's transport systems.

The Mass Rail Transit Authority subway system also experienced heavier than normal congestion and ride-sharing service Uber increased rates by 40% at one point to cash in on the increased demand. Social media users also complained that motorbike taxi drivers were stranded train passengers, in one case charging 380 baht for a ride between Siam to Victory Monument.

Ironically, Uber Technologies on Wednesday announced the launch of a new motorcycle taxi-hailing service, UberMoto.

Reports on Twitter indicated that Bangkok's many foreign commuters also complained that BTS employees only made status updates in Thai, leaving tourists and expats in the dark on the troubles and required transfers. BTS itself has posted only two updates to its Twitter feed since 7am.

Mr Anat apologised for inconveniencing passengers and said refunds on fares were offered to passengers inside stations unable to wait. However, no other compensation was planned.

Before we compare - can we state for the record, the respective CEO pay and then award handicap points accordingly. It has to be Apple to Apple comparison.

SMRT cover up train breakdown incident today 15/3/2016

Photo-from-Twitter.jpg

SMRT was found to have held back train breakdown information this morning (Mar 15). The listed conglomerate in Singapore’s transport duopoly did not update their Twitter and Facebook account as they usually use these outlets as official channels to inform commuters of train delays.

According to twitter accounts, there was a train fault along the Circle Line this morning around 8.10am and train stations become unbearably crowded.

It appears SMRT has taken train delays and breakdowns as part and parcel of everyday life to not see the need to inform commuters. Despite having news outlets picking up the report, SMRT did not apologize or make any explanation for the morning delay.

why sinkies so stupid to vote for this kind of shit?

Train service resumes on East-West Line after track fault

Train service was delayed between Tanah Merah and Aljunied on Friday morning due to a track fault, says SMRT.

SINGAPORE: Train service on the East-West Line (EWL) was delayed during the morning rush-hour on Friday (Mar 18) due to a track fault.

At 7.09am, SMRT posted a tweet about the delay, telling commuters travelling towards Joo Koon station to expect additional travelling time of 15 minutes from Tanah Merah to Aljunied.

Half an hour later, it tweeted that commuters should expect an additional 20 minutes travelling time. The delay was caused by a train fault, SMRT said in the tweet.

At 9.05am, SMRT posted another tweet telling commuters heading from Pasir Ris station towards Aljunied station to expect additional travelling time of 25 minutes. It later revised this to 30 minutes.

In an update at 9.32am, SMRT said the track fault near Paya Lebar station has been resolved, but trains were still travelling at a slower speed due to congestion. Commuters should expect additional travelling time of 20 minutes from Tanah Merah to Aljunied, it said.

At 10.11am, SMRT said the track fault had been cleared and train service was back to normal.

This is the 2nd time in March liao...
