Duo arrested for suspected involvement in motorcycle theft

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested two men, aged 17 and 18, for their suspected involvement in a case of theft of motorcycle at Taman Jurong.
According to a police statement, a report was made by the motorcycle owner who suspected that someone had taken his vehicle out for a joyride before returning it to where it was parked.
Through the review of images from Police cameras (POLCAM) and ground enquiries, officers managed to establish the identities of the suspects.They were arrested on Nov 24.
The men will be charged in court on Nov 26. If convicted, they could be jailed for up to seven years and fined.
The Police would like to remind motorcycle owners to adopt the following crime prevention measures:
Park your motor vehicle in well-lit areas;
Remove the ignition key and lock the motor vehicle whenever it is left unattended, even if it is only for short moment;
Use additional locking devices on your motorcycles, such as disc brake locks; and
Install an anti-theft alarm.
