LTVP = Long Term Visit Pass
As the name implies, it a Visit Pass, not a right to seek employment.
However, this has been largely abused.
How we can improve on it....simple. Two further broad categories
Those spouses who are Singaporeans, can be issued with LTRP (SG) (Long Term Relative Pass SG) and who can reside and seek employment in SG.
Those EPs, SPs...spouses shall be subjected to their spouse employment income, and if granted a visit stay with their foreign spouses in SG, shall be issued with a LTVP (EP/SP), and shall strictly be confined to stay and accompany their spouses (or for children to study), and they are not supposed to seek any employment. Their spouse shall also be their guarantor to ensure that there are no violations.
