This is from the Election Department website:

POSTERS & BANNERS

The display of posters and banners advertising for a candidate or group of candidates during the campaign period must comply with the conditions listed in the Returning Officer’s permit for such display of posters and banners.

At the end of nomination proceedings, the Returning Officer will issue to the candidate or his election agent a permit authorising the display of posters and banners in public places within the constituency where the candidate is contesting in. The permit will specify the maximum number of posters and banners allowed to be displayed in public places within the constituency (other than election rally sites) and may contain certain conditions restricting the place at and manner in which the posters and banners may be displayed.

Posters and banners must be removed after polling day and that the failure to do so is an offence. Candidates or their election agents have to ensure that all of their posters and banners are taken down within the specified period stated in the Returning Officer permit and properly disposed of after the elections.

So, it seems from the Election Department's own website that law regarding posters and banners is that a permit is issued for the posting of banners and posters only to the candidate for use only in the constituency that he is contesting. Since Lee Hsien Loong's poster is all over the island, is he contesting every single GRC and Single constituency? Obviously not. So, what does it say about a PM that can so easily violates laws that others have to adhere to? It says that he is not trustworthy, its says that he thinks the law does not apply to him. This kind of PM should be voted in? I think not. I suggest an Oppo party should file a police complain immediately against the PAP. Another complain should be filed against the ED for dereliction of duty and corruption. The ED is in the PM's Office and they take money from the PM's budget. In other words, they get paid by the PM. So, in return, they turn a blind eye to his violation of election laws? I call this corruption.

He still thinks that people will give him face simply because his daddy is you-know-who.

still think he could use a dead man to win GE? Everyone is fed up of the dead man already.

No lah, not everyone. Some gong kias and gong CBs still display that black ribbon on their Facebook pages and on their cars.

Maybe. but the law is still the law, and it says he can only put his poster up in the constituency that he is the candidate for.

why not hang LKY's poster instead to remind Sinkies of how grateful they should be to him and the PAP. better not. it's the seventh month, might scare some Ah Pek or Ah Ma to death during the night.

Cut out the eyes from the poster and put two red LED lights behind them. During the evening, the red LED lights flash continuously.

Because Sinkies are a cowardly and superstitious lot, PAP sure landslide victory.

Election Department is under Prime Minister's Office. So, it's budget and salaries come from the PMO. So, if the PM suka suka violate election rules, is the ED therefore not in a conflict of interest? How can ED punish and sanction the PM, when he is holding their purse string? If ED is 100% impartial, then no one has a problem with the set up. But in this case, PM clearly violates this policy, and ED has not done anything about it. The good news is that this fuckup by Gay Loong also allows the oppo parties to post their posters all over the island. And they should immediately do that. Forget about waiting for clarification from the ED. That is the sinkie kiasu way. Just go ahead and do it and if they get sanctioned, just point to Gay Loong's posters and say "why he can why we cannot?" ED will shut the fuck up after that.
