A video of a Malay woman slapping her elderly mother went viral after a neighbour upload it on his Facebook.

The slapping incident happened today at Block 48 Lower Delta Road #03-05, and the neighbour was prompted to take a hidden video because he noticed the drastic changes in the elderly woman recently:
“Have you ever wonder how an abused woman is living in her own house? We have been seeing the changes in the old lady. From an old cheerful lady to a botak and fragile old lady whose face is bruised everytime single time we saw her. As much as we would want to render help, we are in no position to. (domestic affair) We have been witnessing alot of incident but just this one time, we decided to discreetly video-ed them. They were pretending to be talking nicely when my mum was along the corridor hanging the laundry. But the moment my mum stepped into our house…………this is just one of the things that happened. This is not the first time. Watch it. Such inhuman. The one who is slapping her is……………….her own daughter.“
No police report has been made so far. You may view the video here.

She just affectionately pat the mum on the cheeks that's all, don't think too much about it

Maybe the daughter was helping to swat a mosquito which landed on the old mother's cheek? Let's not be hasty and jump to conclusions.

7 Dec 2009 Yaacob Ibrahim warned of emerging ultra underclass
Yaacob: Tragedies a sign of deeper problem in Malay community
By Zakir Hussain, Political Correspondent

Minister in Charge of Muslim Affairs Yaacob Ibrahim is worried as he does not see a sense of urgency in the community about overcoming this problem. --

AFTER he went missing for a week, a six-year-old Malay boy was found dead last month. A family friend who ferried him to and from school has since been charged with murder.

This tragedy and a few others involving young Malay children from broken homes so distress Minister in Charge of Muslim Affairs Yaacob Ibrahim that over the weekend, he cried out to his community to 'be worried'.

'My worry is, I don't see a sense of urgency in the community about this problem,' he said in a candid interview, during which he openly declared that he was embarrassed, even 'malu' (Malay for 'ashamed'), by the reports of Malay men involved in such heinous crimes

His despair is almost palpable as he described how these tragedies are symptomatic of a deeper sociological problem and spells out the dangers of ignoring this long-standing problem of broken homes in the Malay community, saying it will lead to an underclass.
