Addendum

We reserve the right to update and modify these rules as the needs of the community dictate to ensure the smooth operation of this community.

What is a Troll?

A Troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion

What is Flaming?

Flaming is hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users. It is usually the result of the discussion of heated real-world issues like politics, religion, philosophy, etc. Internet trolls frequently set out to incite flamewars for the sole purpose of offending or irritating other posters.

What is Thread Hijacking?

Thread hijacking is the act of steering a discussion off-topic by discussing a subject entirely unrelated to the subject at hand. While this can be an intentional act of trolling, it is often accidental - caused by participants in the discussion responding to a throwaway remark, thus taking the thread off at a tangent to the original subject matter. The results often provoke a feeling of resentment from the author of the original post.
