Groups clash with parangs over handphone sale in Johor
A dispute over the sale of handphones at a mall got out of hand and ended in a fight involving 11 men armed with parangs and hammers.

JOHOR BARU - A dispute over the sale of handphones at a mall got out of hand and ended in a fight involving 11 men armed with parangs and hammers.
A 20-year-old man was stabbed in the back during the fight and has been warded in hospital.
It is learnt that the dispute started when rival groups were trying to sell cheap handphones from China, hurting the business of other retailers at the mall.
The argument spilled over and escalated at the car park several days ago.
Nusajaya OCPD Supt Noor Hashim Mohamed said police had arrested eight men aged between 19 and 28 in connection to the case.
In another case, police arrested a member of a robbery gang that targeted 7-11 convenience stores.
Supt Nor Hashim said the suspect, in his 20s, was arrested at Taman Universiti in Skudai and police were hunting for his accomplices.
"We seized knives, mobile phones and a motorcycle from the suspect," he said.
He added that the gang was involved in at least three convenience store robberies in Nusajaya.
