SINGAPORE: More than 700,000 senior Singaporeans will receive an SG50 Seniors Package, Health Minister and Minister-in-charge of Ageing Issues Gan Kim Yong announced on Friday (May 22).
It will include more than 200 types of offers from more than 100 companies in dining, leisure, lifelong learning, lifestyle and wellness. The package is the work of the Ministerial Committee on Ageing, and supported by the Tote Board and the Singapore Business Federation.
Announcing the package at an outdoor variety show at Yishun, Mr Gan told seniors: "I encourage you to take advantage of these offers and stay active. I also encourage younger Singaporeans to take advantage of these offers and bring your parents for a day out, whether to places of attraction, or for a good meal, and spend some quality time with mum or dad, grandpa or grandma."
The package comes with a 50-page booklet, with a complete list of the benefits. Most of the offers are valid from June to August this year.

There are also discounted travel and hotel staycations, courses and attractive reductions at retail and lifestyle outlets, available for seniors to enjoy.
Seniors can look out for the "SG50 Seniors" decal at the participating outlets to use their benefits. They only have to bring along photo identification to verify their age.
In a Facebook post, Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew said eligible senior citizens will get their public transport vouchers next month.

- A free 5-year PAssion Card membership
- A top-up of $25 ActiveSG credits to existing accounts. Seniors who sign up as new ActiveSG members will get an additional $100 ActiveSG credits
- A S$50 public transport voucher,
- A special Kopitiam iCard which entitles them to discounts,
- Complimentary entry to the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest at Gardens By The Bay from June to August,
- Complimentary admission to Jurong Bird Park and the Zoo in the month of June,
- Discounted prices to several attractions in Sentosa
- Up to 50 per cent off for selected performances at the Esplanade from August to November
