I would say that the fuckups of the past decade was done by LHL. Two notable examples would be the casinos and the Population White Paper.
Even the most ardent LKY fans, in the back of their minds, would have believed that had LKY still been in charge, things would not have become as bad as they are now.
Nothing is going to change until the Lees and their cronies are uprooted from power and chased out of town.
I fully expect the PAP to hanker for sympathy votes now, along the lines of 'let us continue the Singapore Story and the vision of LKY' etc.

Importing tens of thousands of skilled, foreign PMET was a move in the right direction. That was only so much Singapore can progress with its small population base. ASEAN today is different from ASEAN twenty or thirty years ago. There are now a lot of educated PMETs from Philippines, China, Indonesia and India. If they aren't working in Singapore, then they are would be working in KL or Jakarta to compete against Singapore. Better that we attract them here and use their talents for Singapore's advantage.
